Detailed Description:
Valeraldehyde (CAS 110-62-3) is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor. It has a basic structure consisting of a five-carbon chain with an aldehyde functional group. Valeraldehyde is soluble in water and organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. It has a boiling point of 102-104°C and a density of 0.805 g/mL. This chemical is highly flammable and may react vigorously with oxidizing agents.
Flavor and Fragrance Industry:
Valeraldehyde is used as a flavoring agent in the food industry, providing a fruity or nutty aroma. It is also utilized in the production of fragrances, contributing to the scent of certain perfumes and cosmetics.
Use:
valeraldehyde is mainly used for the production of pentanol and the oxidation of valeric acid. The raw materials of flavors, fragrances and rubber accelerators can also be used.
